After participants complete the six-day conference, they are often eager to get involved.

The students who go through the conference officially become "Alumni" and they become part of the Latino Youth Leadership Alumni. The LYLA is founded around the core beliefs that the conference is also based around: Increasing the Latino graduation rates; maintaining strong family, cultural, and community values; keeping the familia aspect of the conference alive and building a better and stronger community.

The LYLA is like one big family, looking out for each other, helping each other grow, and motivating each other to do bigger and better things. Keeping the things that makes the conference unique and special shows through everything the LYLA does.

The Latino Youth Leadership Alumni (LYLA) functions under its own set of By-Laws and is governed completely by past LYLC participants, now “Alumni” members. Alumni members have volunteered more than 14,500 hours of service in projects in 2012 and 2013. The LYLA is a recognized student organization at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and active members range from 16 – 25.
